We are working hard with RecWell to figure out how we can safely hold in person practices and classes. We will update everyone as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, we are holding some virtual classes with details below.
weekly classes
FREE for club members (become a club member here!)
All weekly classes are cumulative. You'll be able to drop in and out of class the first couple of weeks of Newcomer classes without a problem, but expect them to build on themselves after that.
Normally, we have a wide range of in person classes at multiple levels for all ballroom styles. (You can see descriptions of what we usually teach below.) However, we are adjusting and adapting for saftety reasons. We are still trying to figure out the best way to hold Newcomer-focused classes for the semester.

- Our alumni members, Steph and Ike, will be teaching virtual classes on Discord. These will be geared towards the Bronze level, but will have things for all levels. The Latin class will be Tuesdays at 6 pm and Standard will be Wednesdays at 6, starting Sept. 22nd. These won't be following the usual syllabus as strictly and will be tailored towards whatever the students want to learn and focus on (whether that's solo routines for the virtual competitions this semester or branching out into Rhythm or Smooth!). If you would like to participate, please sign up here so we can send you the Discord server link!
- USA Dance, the primary national organization that runs collegiate dance competitions and supports local ballroom dance communities, is offering free lessons taught by professionals from around the country. They are offering these specifically for college students with the understanding that the ability to access instruction has been severely limited with the pandemic. For more information, see their announcement post about USA Dance's new initiatives here.

American Smooth/Rhythm
We primarily teach the International styles of ballroom dance in our club, but sometimes offer classes in either American Smooth or Rhythm. Smooth is the American style counterpart to Standard, and Rhythm is similar to Latin. The classes are usually intermediate level and focus on introducing American style to those who already have some basic knowledge of the International dances. Unfortunately, we couldn't fit them into the schedule for this semester, but we hope to offer them again in the future!
